The John Broad Centre

random_0.jpgThe John Broad Centre is a purpose-built space which opened in 2018. Located on our Flat Bush site, the centre provides day services for young adults with intellectual disabilities Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. The centre is committed to supporting people who sometimes struggle with changes or the demands of life, and the vocational services programmes that are run from the centre encourage people to actively participate both at the centre and in the local community. The spacious durable rooms have been built with noise-cancelling panels on the walls and ceiling and can be opened into a larger communal area or closed into smaller more individualised spaces.

The centre includes a:

  • Wet-floor art room
  • Indoor pool
  • Computer suite
  • Quiet area
  • Gym space
  • Television / gaming room
  • Outdoor area with trampoline

Staff support people attending the John Broad Centre with meaningful sessions that alternate between community outings or classes and centre-based activities. These include:

Centre-based activities

  • Cooking / baking
  • Art projects
  • Dance and music
  • Car washes
  • Board games
  • Computer games
